Timeless Typewriters
Come and experience a world were every "click clack" of a key matters.
Grace Passaglia and Larissa Pothoven, our interns from Monmouth College, worked with former Assistant Director Will Best to put together Timeless Typewriters, a temporary interactive exhibition in our lobby. Grace and Larissa researched the impacts of the integration of typewriters into wider society, particularly in the Midwest.
While today's computers give us the opportunity to send messages across the globe in an instant, just a few decades ago, people had to use bulky machines to type letters, papers, and forms. In our computer-driven world, we don't always appreciate how easily simple typing mistakes can be fixed. It wasn't all that long ago, however, when computers and delete buttons were just concepts.
The Warren County History Museum is grateful to Monmouth College Professor Brad Rowe for donating typewriters for this exhibit.
