 volunteers AND INTERNS

Are you interested in local history, museums, or events that instill pride in our community? If so, then you may be a perfect match for a Warren County History Museum internship or our volunteer programs!

INTERNS

Our internship program is open to all majors. We work with students to provide an educational experience that will help prepare them for careers. If you have an interest in local history, communications, non-profits, marketing, or event planning,  we can find a specialized project just for you.

The museum also works with Monmouth College professors and their classes on projects throughout the year. There have been several collaborations between the museum and the college for their Summer Opportunities for Intellectual Activities (SOfIA) program.

Here are some projects from recent interns:
  • Kayla Beadles helped to expand the museum’s social media presence and was the driving force behind the museum's first garage sale fundraiser.
  •  Kallie Ditusa produced a brochure and a new family of logos for the museum. Her work has expanded the reach of the museum and given it a more polished look.
  •  Lily Guillen  helped with the colorization process for the “History ReTouched” exhibit. She also wrote press releases, photographed events and redesigned the museum's website.
  • Jameyrae Valdivia curated an entire exhibit: "Opera Houses in Warren County." She hopes to become a museum director in the future, so this internship gave her a lot of hands on-experience.

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteering is a terrific way to become a part of our family and get hands-on experience in the museum world. This is an opportunity to give back to the community in which you live--as well as a chance to build experience for those who will soon be entering the work force. The Warren County History Museum is fortunate to have many wonderful volunteers.  In fact, prior to 2016, the museum was run entirely by volunteers.

Volunteers may help with any of the following:
  • Customer Service
  • Gift Shop
  • Special Events
  • Programs
  • Collection Management and Care
  • Data Entry
  • Digitization
  • Oral History
  • Project Research
  • Marketing and PR
