MAGIC FESTIVAL
During The Great Nicola’s career, he was one of the most widely known magicians of his time. Hailing from Monmouth, he brings some magic back to this area at the annual The Great Nicola Magic Festival, which began in 2018.
The pandemic has changed our plans for the 2020 Magic Festival, but we are excited to offer Magic Fest 2.5, a scaled-down, virtual version of the festival.

Thanks to the wonders of technology and social media, the show will go on! On the day of the event, we will post various content connected to magic, including DIY crafting videos, a workshop video, and a lecture on the history of Nicola.
Sad about the event being cancelled this year? It’s okay, we are, too, but we are hoping to simply postpone it until the spring. Information regarding the virtual event will be available here and on our Facebook page.

For the first festival, the museum prepared Monmouth: The Magic City, an exhibit that looked at The Great Nicola and the
impact Monmouth had on his life and career. The exhibit incorporated newly donated objects that were
used by Nicola on stage and were designed and built in his Monmouth workshop.
