During the 1930s, 40s, and 50s the way that household duties and chores were performed was very different compared to today.
In this exhibit you will find many electrical appliances that made life much easier for many people since they became accessible and affordable. Some of these include a television, a refrigerator, sewing machines, and a washing machine.
The unique thing about this exhibit is that there are no signs to tell you about the artifacts, because most people will have a personal story or memory with these objects. We encourage you to share them out loud as you tour the room.
The appliances are not restored, but they have been cleaned. Schedule a visit today to experience this interactive room in real life and see our other exhibits.
